After ‘Pokkisham’, Producer Nemichand Jhabak had plans to make his next project ‘Mappillai’, a remake of Rajinikanth’s super hit classic of the same title.

But recently, it was rumoured that the producer is passing the project to another hand. It’s was said that following the drastic washout of Cheran’s ‘Pokkisham’, producer Jhabak is not comfortable about producing ‘Mappillai’ for which he had the rights.

Not only this, birdies had it that Vijay Vauhini Productions may take up the production of this one. It’s worthy to mention that Dhanush’s ‘Padikkadhavan’ was produced by the same banner.

But when IndiaGlitz spoke to the producer about this recently, he rubbished these rumourstotally. “I am very much keen on this particular project. ‘Mappillai’ is very close to my heart and will never loose this project at any cost. I am busy right now in confirming the cast”, informs Jhabak.

Directed by Suraaj, the movie will now have Hansika Motwani opposite Dhanush. Meanwhile the hunt to finding out the right Maamiyar for Dhanush is still going on.
